One of the many unfortunate effects of Barack Obamas re-election is that it will empower the radical left to continue revising Americas history. The fastest way to undermine a country is to undermine its history, and the best place to begin is in the nations classrooms where pliable young minds are easily influenced. This is precisely what the left has been doing for decades, and with evident success. The left has made great strides in undermining the family, taking over the public square, and dominating education at all levels. But some of its most effective work has been in revising Americas history. Russian philosopher Alexander Solzhenitzyn said: To destroy a people you must first sever their roots. Patrick Buchanan said: To create a new people, the agents of our cultural revolution must first create a new history; and that project is well advanced.
In 1992 that bastion of liberal thought, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), received a two-million-dollar grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the U.S. Department of Education to develop new standards for history books for grades five through twelve. UCLA completed this assignment in 1997. Since that time, its standards have had the intended effect. UCLAs standards for history books for public school children have resulted in the following:
No mention in history books of such American luminaries as Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, or the Wright Brothers. It is the lives of exceptional Americans such as these, among many other factors, that validate the concept of American exceptionalism. Consequently, to undermine the concept, liberals must remove any reference to exceptional acts and exceptional people in American history.
The Constitutional Convention is not even mentioned.
George Washingtons presidency is not mentioned nor is his famous farewell address.
The Soviet Union is commended for its great strides in space exploration, but Americas moon landing is not mentioned.
One person who does this is Paul Begala who is sometimes on CNN. I have been trying to find information on Mr. Begala and how much money he was paid while a “consultant” with Freddie Mac. Do we have to file a FOIA to find out what this hypocrit was paid?
The left succeeds by pretending history doesn't exist, that can be countered but at a pretty high cost.
“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”
George Orwell
Yet, I’m sure that there are whole chapters on such luminaries as; Booker T. Washington; Rosa Parks; MLK; Rev. Sharpton; Jesse Jackson; Rev. Wright: and an entire book on our Lord and Savior, Zer0 Hussein Davis.
I’ve been watching the History Channel recount the History of Mankind in their current series - it is unabashedly biased.
Innocent Muslims are leading an idyllic mutli-cultural/religious society when evil Christian Crusaders, driven by bloodlust set upon them to commit slaughter. Soldiers are shown hacking down cowering unarmed civilians - only one Muslim goes so far as to raise a shield.
Henry “Skip” Gates of beer summit fame comes on to comment on what a destructive influence religion has always been,
Sickeningly biased, anti-Christian, anti-Western propaganda.
What makes you think mainstream channels would air them?
Teradittos!
I'm sure great screenplays can be created from Whittaker Chambers' autobiography Witness and Arthur Koestler's anti-Stalinist novel Darkness at Noon. Why not find a Hollywood studio that would make movies of them? And why not turn M. Stanton Evans' Blacklisted by History, the story of Senator Joe McCarthy, or Ronald Radosh's The Rosenberg File into a documentary?

What? The Constitutional Convention is explicitly mentioned in the UCLA standards.
“Students can appreciate how agendas for redefining American society in the postwar era differed by exploring how the Constitution was created and how it was ratified after a dramatic ideological debate in virtually every locale in 1787-88. The Constitution of 1787 and the Bill of Rights should be broached as the culmination of the most creative era of constitutionalism in American history. In addition, students should ponder why the Constitutional Convention sidetracked the movement to abolish slavery that had taken rise in the revolutionary era. Nor should they think that ratification of the Constitution ended debate on governmental power or how to create “a more perfect union.” Economic, regional, social, ideological, religious, and political tensions would spawn continuing debates over the meaning of the Constitution for generations.”
“The Soviet Union is commended for its great strides in space exploration, but Americas moon landing is not mentioned.”
Pravda USA almost ignored Neil Armstrong’s passing away completely. No specials on tv that I’m aware of that commemorated his accomplishments. Not even on the Science or NatGeo channels. But they did have gator wrasslin and hillbilly hand fishing programming!
All traces of WHITE America must be erased.
All traces of WHITE America must be erased.
All traces of WHITE America must be erased.
You have to have the whole package. major channels, movie production studios, directors, equipment, screen writers, actors, everything.
Fortunately there are many available cheap as they are going out of business.
Rupert Murdoch can't be the only wealthy man that sees the financial opportunities in promoting conservative ideals.
I think it is entirely possible to retake at least a part of academia for conservatives. With the current economic system many colleges and universities are relying on adjunct or part time faculty more and more. If Freepers with advanced degrees, (Masters or Doctorate), who have some time available, obtain positions at colleges think of the impact we can have. Sure adjunct faculty are generally limited to a few courses per semester but we begin to make a difference one classroom at a time. I have been teaching humanities and history at my local CC.
It is very gratifying each semester to hear from students how Ive opened their eyes and got them to think critically. And that is really all it is, thinking critically. I dont preach to them or advance my agenda. I often end up playing the lefts position in the role of Devils Advocate. I just make sure that I present both sides of any issue we are discussing and then let the students decide....it is amazing how many of them are really conservative and didnt even realize it.
I’ve been working on an opera based on ‘Darkness At Noon’ for a few years.......
Great book
Murdoch is no conservative
One replica of the photo even generated controversy. In December 2001, the New York Fire Department unveiled a study of a memorial statue based on the picture, but with the firefighers as black, Latino and white. The three original men are all Caucasian.
Many of the complaints about the statue came from New York firefighters themselves. They criticized their department for being politically correct and "rewriting history," as the father of fireman Thomas Casoria, a WTC victim, said.
Someday, all the white men in the photos below will be changed to resemble transexual versions of Tiger Woods if the scumbag Democrats get their way.
He is smart enough to know that there is a large part of the population that is conservative and they are not being served by the news media or the entertainment media.
Moo held told us we would have to re-write history. Anyone think she was joking?
