In an effort to combat perceived discrimination, one Portland school seems to have gone off the deep end by suggesting peanut butter and jelly sandwiches carry racist connotations, Twitchy reported Monday.
According to the Portland Tribune, Verenice Gutierrez, principal of Harvey Scott K-8 School, "picks up on the subtle language of racism" on a daily basis.
“What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?” Gutierrez asked. “Another way would be to say: ‘Americans eat peanut butter and jelly, do you have anything like that?’ Let them tell you. Maybe they eat torta. Or pita.”

Peanut butter and jelly is racist because it asumes a child has a parent loving enough to take the time to make it; many minorities simply have school workers make their breakfast and lunch because they have no such parent.

We’re all living in a parallel-to-reality universe, since this “people of color” junk phrase surfaced, and is used for every *perceived* slight/disadvantage/unfair situation etc.
All they’re doing is trying to rationalize lack of motivation, love of free stuff, and failure to achieve. Instead of guarranteed equal opportunity, they want guarranteed equal outcome. From me, they get a deaf ear and the middle finger.
