What is really needed is a color-blind, populist appeal to working-class voters. Tell them how illegal immigration is lowering wages of all races (white, black, hispanic) and how environmental regs, hostility towards coal etc. is raising the energy prices of the above folks. Also attack offshoring of manufacturing jobs. And lay off social issues. People are worried about their stomachs, not their souls. Problem with this eminently sensible approach (which would peel off many hispanic votes and perhaps 10 percent of black votes) is that both the Chamber of Commerce-types (who love outsourcing and cheap illegal labor) and Rush Limbaugh (who is genetically anti-populist) would not go along with this.

Aside from Herman Cain , Romney was actually the best candidate to run against Obama, and you see where that got us .

The Bushes have the natural ability to pull Hispanic votes . The big problem is younger single white females who now view government/Obama as Alpha/Beta provider all rolled into one .
The only way the Republicans can win is to harshly and relentlessly define the Dims, and be willing to use dishonesty to do it, if need be . The one who fights dirty at all costs wins .
