"Just go on "unskewing" polls there Qbert. See where that gets ya."
I distinctly recall you endlessly harping away how the Tea Party wasn't going to do very well in the 2010 elections because of you're supposed "analysis"... How did that one work for you?
I have no problem with folks injecting a little reality into a situation if it is becoming an echo chamber- but there is a big difference between that, and simply piling on Republicans every time one sees a supposedly negative poll. I think you are in the latter camp.
And say for the sake of argument that this poll is right- do you have anything to contribute to try to help Republicans "turn it around"? Or do you just get giddy at rubbing salt in the wounds of all those "gullible" freepers?...
I don't know what you're talking about. Pretty much everyone, even folks like Nate Silver, thought the Republicans would take the House by winning more than 50+ seats. What I objected to were stupid predictions like Dick Morris' (who is virtually always wrong) who claimed the GOP might win 100 seats. Morris also predicted we'd win the Senate in 2010 when it was clear to most reasonable analysts that bad nominees like Christine O'Donnell would probably prevent that.
We have been nominating some real duds for statewide office - and the fact we couldn't retake the Senate under such favorable circumstances between 2010 and 2012 is proof of that.
And say for the sake of argument that this poll is right- do you have anything to contribute to try to help Republicans "turn it around"?
Yes, stop reacting and playing small ball. Talk about the underlying big issues. Make sure people identify the GOP with being against the social welfare nanny state because our economy will collapse if we keep this up. We are stuck in the weeds arguing on Democrat turf. That needs to stop. Talk about Greece, talk about California, talk about bankruptcy, default, etc. Do this at every press conference. Instead of talking about the macro, we end up yammering about the specifics of this and that program and it's getting us nowhere. We are playing by the oppositions rules.
Or do you just get giddy at rubbing salt in the wounds of all those "gullible" freepers?
Oh come on, stop being so offended. Believing polls could be "unskewed" was just so dumb it needs to be made fun of a little so folks on our side doesn't repeat the error.
