I know felons can’t vote but I didn’t know they could run for office.

Felons can indeed vote - in all 50 states. conditions vary in the states but the most common condition is, that they have served their time. Maine and Vermont being exceptions, where even incarcerated felons are allowed to vote.

I find no news story which claims she/he actually voted in the election. I wonder, while on probation, if she/he can vote while in office.
