The fine is so small that the government won't make much from it, and the bill specifically forbids the IRS from taking punitive action for NOT paying it, unlike the income tax.
So as the insurance companies get raked they either raise their rates or drop the whole business, making things worse.
This will lead to public support for further expanding medicaid as I said, AND making the mandate tax bigger and more punitive as those not insured will either be demonized or made into victims of the greedy companies depending on income.
A lot of that goes into the set up. For example, the enclave should be in a (from the Mexican point of view) rural area. On the north side, an airstrip and access to transportation.
Gated access to and from, for authorized Mexicans from the south side of the enclave only; for authorized Americans to and from the north side only.
As such, you try and minimize and border crossing value to the cartels or for illegals. No illegal drug market in the enclave, or on either side; no easy access to or crossing of the border; no free access to medically uninvolved people.
About the only angle would be to try and hijack supply trucks going to the enclave. But even that would be easy to stop with a private highway.
“And what do you seek to win?”
Umm...votes.
You didn’t answer my question. How does calling people stupid win their vote?
It obviously doesn’t. A lot of us are still venting, but at some point a little political introspection might be wise for all of us. You don’t win elections by being condescending. You come off sounding like that which you decry.

A fair point.
I guess I’ve written them off. If a candidate is constantly required to pass a “purity test” in addition to fending off a liberal media, and a corrupt opponent, it’s just too much to expect of someone.
Honestly, I don’t expect us to survive. I’m hoping to survive the coming crash, and possibly move to a newly constituted “Red States of America”.
I’m thinking the Pubbies are “in on it”.........
My personal belief about Obamacare is that it was designed by a bunch of demented morons and it is so flawed and unpopular it will collapse under its own weight in several years. Getting it off the ground with 14-17 states not cooperting and half the folks not even bothering to sign up is just going to be impossible. The GOP will sabateauge it at every opportunity. The economic collapse which is surely coming will finish it off.
>> “The most sensible alternative to the horrors of Obamacare are boiled down to one thing: set up an American created and run medical enclave just south of the border in Mexico.” <<
.
There already is one in Ensenada, called “Adios Cancer” and it is an astounding success.

You’re dreaming!
Boehner has promised to bend over for Obama.
Never thought about an international plan. Do you have any good links to such plans?
Boehnor bends over for everybody. But if he gets the chance to knife it without losing his seat he will. As I mentioned other factors besides the pubbies will do Obamacare in.
“I guess Ive written them off.”
I know how you feel.
I have a feeling this is what those 16,000 IRS agents are for. If a business such as Hobby Lobby doesn’t do what it’s told, the feds will walk into every store and close them down. This whole scam is to destroy the country.
It’s our patriotic duty to help “dear leader” implement his plan of destruction ( and the quicker the makers can regain control and rebuild).
JC, pgkdan: I'm with you, 100%. I've lost my home, my marriage, my family, my automobile, my income over the past year under Obama. It's a small thing to lose my freedom as well if it were to come to that.
Really? I am sorry to hear that. Why did your wife walk out?
I know Cigna sells health insurance in Panama.
