AARP is not part of United Healthcare. I am a former health insurance agent for United Healthcare, and specifically sold Medicare supplements promoted by AARP. They just have a business relationship, that’s all. I am not defending AARP because they are the last group that I would consider helping Medicare recipients. It’s all about the bottom line. And they stand to profit considerably under Obamacare.

Thanks for that info. I was really wondering about that claim when I saw it in the original reply.

AFAIK, AARP is not part of any insurance company.

Thanks for the comments re AARP and UHC. I suspect that they are very intertwined. I do know that all the AARP payments are now direct deposit to my doctor clients and they all come through with our payments from UHC. Have been working in this field since 1985 and have never seen such strange bedfellows until this year.
