Another thing Romney completely screwed up on.
Rand Paul is looking forward to 2016. I think I read that he is interested in the POTUS position. So, he’s going to make a few headlines, stir some pots and get some national attention.
Personally, if you can’t offer a court opportunity within six months of arrest, the authorities ought to be paying you $500 a day from that point on...if you are a US citizen.
Unfortunately he has very dangerous positions on illegal alien amnesty. And despite his posturing, one must wonder what he really thinks of Israel given his father's horrific views.
Rand Paul may indeed be doing what you say.
“make a few headlines, stir some pots and get some national attention”
But in this he is right.
Also-—at least he is saying SOMEthing.
The rest are sitting on their ass scared to death and wanting to give America to the illegals.
Where are the rest of th Republicans, they ALL should be screaming like raped apes.
Instead Baby Boehner is making deals, and the rest of the Republican Senate have grown mute.
6th Amendment: "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."
Not a word even implying that this applies only to US citizens.
Rand Paul needs to answer serious questions to earn a lot of Conservatives’ approval. They are these:
1) Is Israel a tolerant nation deserving of America’s support?
2) Is Hamas morally equivalent to Israel?
3) How should we prosecute terrorism?
Hopefully, he doesn’t have all the same answers as his father, but at the same time, he had better have an answer better than Obama’s on Israel, to simply call Hamas the terrorist scum that they are.
Rand Paul has issues he is right on occasionally. Just as a broken clock in right twice every day.
However, he is NOT a republican anymore than his father. He is a Libertarian and should stop calling himself a Republican.
That being said, I will not denigrate the good people of Kentucky. They have a right to be represented by whomever they chose.
Rand Paul has an excellent constitutional voting record, how does that make him not a Republican?
Hey, bring him on. Anyone candidate who has absolutely no (zero) concern over what the medai blathers on about him is the only kind who can take this on.
I certainly can’t imagine him getting caught schmoozing for the camera wtih the Mata Hari twins (Rubio). He cares too much about his image.
Don’t know much about him yet.
Because he has an excellent constitutonal voting record?
You are absolutely correct: the Pauls have no business calling themselves Republicans. And the GOP needs to make it even more abundantly clear to libertarian-minded people that they really aren’t welcome.
That way GOP won’t field candidates that spout off nonsense like “the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism”.
The GOP really needs to banish people who say stuff like, I am a libertarian with a small ‘l’ and a Republican with a capital ‘R’. And I am a Republican with a capital ‘R’ on grounds of expediency, not on principle.
Great point. If we forget that the Constitution does not give us rightd, but rather prevents government from violating our rights, then we’ve already lost.
I thought Rand Paul was great...until he called for a round of amnesty followed by stopping all new immigration. I think stopping all new immigration is even more idiotic than amnesty. He is 2 for 2 for dumb immigration policies.
...for those interested. :D
Without the libertarian minded people on board w the GOP, the GOP is FINISHED
All of these so called “true conservatives” who bash Ron and Rand Paul are going to keep leading the GOP to election loses as far as the eye can see.
