Old Media will become older and less relevant.
These people and this power center is NOT going away and has a tremendous grip on the part of the population that votes but has little day-to-day interest in politics.
They are EXPERT in propaganda and agitprop and control not just news-streams but also the vital entertainment industry, an ancillary of the the propaganda machine.
It’s just silly to say it’s going away. It’s never been more dominant. In fact, it has a significant slice of the population absolutely HYPNOTIZED.
Yep, too early to call 'em dead, but don't we see a move to internet news sources that we view when we have time...on our own individual monitors, smartphones, ipads, etc..
Of course, that only addresses "news" programming, which I feel will decline. Politics in entertainment TV is another loser, and as we've seen, very important and another loser. Mitt wasn't hipp.
You bring up a good point about the MSM. The Old Media is morphing into a melding of Hollywood pop culture and old style news. The best examples are Colbert and Stewart. This is dangerous and effective propaganda.
Going on offense and being aggressive is the best response to it. Romney showed in the first debate that is effective. But then went back to the tip toe strategy and lost.
We need to lay out the facts and mock the dims for their truly insane economic policies because it is the only way to connect with these swing voters.
