A day after Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, he widely expanded his own powers. Its been met with both approval and anger, with accusations that he cares only about his followers, not all Egyptians.
Clashes between Morsi's supporters and opponents swept the nation on Friday, with police firing tear gas at demonstrators in Cairo.
Rallies sprung up in several different cities, after Morsi signed a controversial decree expanding his powers a move that has divided the country on whether the leader has the right to do so. And as the controversy around Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood continues to mount, many are quick to compare him to toppled leader Hosni Mubarak.
Even people who did not vote for him tried to give him a chance, but found that hes no different than Mubarak in foreign policy, Said Sadek, a professor of political sociology at American University, told RT.
Sadeks view is shared by Mark Almond, professor of international relations at Bilkent University in Turkey. Hes becoming a devout version of Mubarak, one might say at first sight. He organized the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and almost 24 hours later, hes effectively declaring himself the absolute ruler of Egypt for the coming period, anyway, Almond told RT.
Morsi brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas two days ago. The move was welcomed by Washington, which reportedly talked Tel Aviv into giving it a shot.

Can genocide be far behind?
Is it true that the U.S. has promised to send U.S. troops to the Sinai?
This is what the rumors are.
The Arab spring has sprung.
Morsi has gone from having very little power to now absolute control. The firing squads should start any day now.
Make no mistake. Obama’s support for the Arab spring has always been about installing sharia in the mideast and now it is obvious that if Obama gets his way, the days of Israel existing are numbered.
Obama to Morsi:
“How could I deny you the very power I seek for myself, in my country?”
and the MB march goes on -
and the prime enablers - Obama and Clinton
What's the difference?

Huh? Mubarak replaced Sadat in 1981.
Nearly all of the “rulers” of muslim countries are tyrannical dictators.
Why is this supposed to be such a big deal?
Yes, by assassination. Mubarak was Sadat's Vice President during the Camp David accords between Carter, Sadat, and Begin.
Therefore, even though he took power 10 months into Reagan's presidency, he's Carter's legacy.
Just like how 9/11 occurred 9 months into Bush's presidency, but was really Clinton's legacy.

Well, he did say “Never let a crisis go to waste”.
Wait a minute...
OT:
Hey Toby (and the usual suspects), did you see this?
Coming soon to Libya. Another 0bungle’s success.
I wonder what we paid Morsi for brokering that cease fire?
LMAO that Egyptians thought they would be doing better with this Muslim Revolutionary.
This is the result of Obama sticking his nose where it didn’t belong.
Something does not make sense
How did Hillary Clinton show up in the Middle East and two days later Egypt falls apart. There has to be a lot more to the story.
Someone needs to put the pieces of this puzzle together.
And, we quickly discovered that the Arab spring was never about democracy.
If Obama says that's what it's about, that's the first clue that that's NOT what it's about.
Exactly.
