Leno: Obama Is Running Out of Republicans To Blame Fiscal Cliff On By Noel Sheppard Created 11/22/2012 - 10:29am
Jay Leno continued his string of comedic attacks on the current White House resident Wednesday.
During his opening monologue on NBC's Tonight Show, the host said that because Democrats did so well on Election Day, President Obama is running out of Republicans to blame the fiscal cliff on (video follows with transcript and commentary):
"President Obama today pardoned the White House turkey," Leno teased. "And then the turkey forgave him for the bad economy. So it worked out nice. Thought that was nice."
"As you may have heard," he continued, "our economy is headed towards what they call a fiscal cliff unless President Obama and Congress can reach some sort of compromise. And President Obama is in a tough spot. Because the Democrats did so well on Election Day, he's running out of Republicans he can blame this on."
You know, if the rest of the people in the media were willing to call the President out for his part in this stalemate, maybe he and his Party would be forced to deal more honestly with their opponents.
But since Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) know that Republicans will be blamed by the press for any failure to avert this crisis, they don't have to seriously negotiate.
Must be nice.
Where was Jay prior to the election? Pfffffft....
Jay kept having him on his show, so I guess Jay helped get him reelected. Going on these shows and the View helped the celebrity get elected. Though it is not Presidential. I guess being president now is just merely being a celebrity. Just a figurehead, kind of like the Queen of England.
Nice catch. But are you talking about the one that fell apart or all in general?
Happy Thanksgiving!
obama might be running our of Republicans to blame things on, but he’s not running out of useful idiots that will believe him.
Just watch.
