As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, thousands of families in the northeast face a difficult holiday season. For those still reeling from the effects of Superstorm Sandy, emotions are still raw and futures are uncertain. Reuters photographer Mike Segar visited Staten Island last week, spending time with residents hard-hit by Sandy. He collected not just their portraits but their stories, as they stood amid the wreckage of what had been their homes, businesses, and places of worship. While there was anger and sadness on display, there was also a sense of gratitude for the outpouring of help from afar, and the groundswell of support from friends and neighbors.

No because that comment wasn’t mine. My comment is farther down in the thread.
I doesn’t matter your initial post you claimed that I was disparage Free Republic by claiming something happen that didn’t, but it did and repeatedly. I did report many many of the worse of the abuses. It wasn’t just those three threads I can show you such post on dozens of threads.
Not really, but if you don’t speak up when your own do something wrong how can you stand against others when they are?
Oh it happened alright.
And you're welcome.
A few communities here in CT are offering housing for Staten Island residents affected by Sandy.
People who weren’t on the original threads won’t understand the rancor you are talking about. They can Monday morning quarterback all they want, several FReepers saw what happened.
Never saw jazusamo on a single one of those threads, so he/she seems like they are talking out their posterior.
Are you dense or what?
The #1 comment is the comment for the person who posts the thread.
The person who posted that thread was named Kartographer.
Are you trying to say we have two Kartogragher's here at Free Republic.
I guess maybe in your own mind we may have two here but in realty you're the only Kartographer at FR.
Being from CA, I and a few others are used to these types of comments, such as wishing and hoping for the death and destruction of other Americans. I’ve seen it countless times, right here.
I know the area you’re talking about, and understand your frustration. But probably best to address the individual posts as they occur and forget about making the general statement of condemnation. It managed to ensure a good FRiend.
It managed to ensnare a good FRiend.
Yup. I used to live in California and I think you and I experienced the same here on FR in the past.
The comment was a picture that was copyrighted and removed because of that. My comment on that thread which refers to the subject and the behavior that we are talking about is farther down the thread,. which I have repeatedly directed you to and to which you failed repeatedly to go to and read, which is why I then posted it to show that I did repeatedly speak up against the behavior that we are talking about multiple times on multiple threads. You asked me why I didn’t speak up about it at the time and I am showing you that I did.
LOL! I remember that comment!!! Guess I wasn’t hallucinating after all.
You have my Thanks today Karty on this special day.
You have been a source of great information, which I can honestly attribute to helping me get through this recent storm with much more ease than before I started prepping up.
Stay the course brother man.
Dirtboy was on those threads and saw some of the nasty comments. Par for the course for FReepers outside of red states.
“We will recover, but we dont appreciate bravo-sierra.”
LIPA said Tuesday that more than 12,000 workers, including 7,300 linemen from as far away as California, Washington state and Arizona, were working to restore power.

Maybe next time around.........you can recover all on your own.
No response jazusamo? You weren’t on those threads. You weren’t in your home worrying if your house was gonna get flooded while FReepers laughed and hoped you had your entire property turned into swamp land.
Anyone, liberal or conservative, who does that, is worthy of scorn and ridicule. I despise liberal’s politics, but I would NEVER applaud their suffering. Ever.
If you do, you have no heart and are certainly not someone who follows Judeo-Christian principles.
And Kartographer, Sandy actually opened my eyes to how unprepared I really was. I’m more prepared than most of my neighbors (skills-wise), but I need to do more. Thanks for the prepper list. I’ve learned a ton already in the month or so I’ve been following it.
You are more than welcome, and, my humble request is that you never stop, regardless.
P.S. I am spreading the word.
Thank you. I know people who have family on Long Island and they tell me that it’s worse there than the media is saying.
