“I expressed nothing anti-God.”
Well that is a matter of viewpoint. You called Bible believing conservative Christians “morons” because they don’t hold to your exact viewpoint of science. IF, those folks are the true/best followers of God....THEN you are anti-God. To oppose His Children/folowers is to oppose Him.
“I merely stated that I believe in science, too. People who believe they are mutually exclusive are not dealing in reality.” Be honest...you called them “morons” because they place scripture above what is called “science.” My profession is intimately conected to useful application of “science” but I still never let it compromise the truth of scripture. I chose this path, no one forced or tricked me down it. I am formally educated in biological science from strictly secular sources and excelled at it. However, I still place scripture above what is often called “science.” If you chose to think me a “moron” then you do so at your own risk....the least of which is to be foolish in the logic.
“God gave us brains. The idea that we should not use them seems anti-Conservative to me.”
God gave us brains to worship Him, not to undermind His revealed truth. Since God created all things, then following Him, and what He has revealed, first...is the ONLY real conservatism.
Normally, I do not involve myself in disagreements with secular minded anti-Christian types. It is mostly a futile act. However, with upcoming candidates like Marco Rubio (I know little about the man) being immediately shot down for expressing Conservative Christian views on scripture and their interpretation.....and then someone on Free Republic jumping on that band wagon. Well....it just didn’t strike me as being consistent with Jim Robinson saying this site is Pro-God. Plus, it just damages the coalition that once elected Ronald Reagan...and could elect another. However, this type of rhetoric you engage in is not conducive to coalition building.
In my opinion, your type of poster should be banned from the forum. You don’t really fit in with what is best for conservatism. At a minimum, you need to confine your anti-Christian (anti-Biblical) views to the religious forums.
You have shown yourself to be ignorant on so many fronts in your posts in this thread, not to mention your penchant for lying, that it is difficult to determine which is which in some cases here. In the final analysis it really does not matter.
I am a Jew. I believe in God. Christ is not my savior. I understand that he is yours and have no problem with that. That is more consideration than you are showing me.
Science is an important part of life. When people ignore it they do themselves a great disservice and reveal something bad about themselves.
To not understand that a belief in God can co-exist with a belief in science scares me.
As to your need to whine to the headmaster here, that is within your right and if he wishes to sever my account he will. It’s his domain and he can do as he pleases. It is not yours, though.
You remind me of a kid I knew in Hebrew school. He thought that if you did not think like him you should be cast out.
Remember one thing if nothing else. You are not God, no matter how godlike you may think yourself. When one thinks he knows what is best for others to think and say he is not close to God, he is closer to supporting a climate where totalitarianism can flourish.
