I think that the new Savage is designed to be calm -- with a more subtle way of alerting the listeners to the existential threats. More suitable for this time slot and a potential new kind of audience.. people bored of today's prime-time TV and in general apolitical.
I agree that the newspaper thing is a good idea.. a chance to illustrate how it ain't always just news.. it often includes leftist distortions.
