Why do we have so many levels of government, and are they necessary?

Rush is partly right. But many people vote on the basis of personalities, not policies; events may or may not enter into it.
I was having a conversation with one of my low-information “liberal” co-workers, who voted for Obama twice. But she also voted for Reagan twice. Why?
She told me how much she admired Reagan and does to this day. It was his charisma, she said.

NO! Not at all! In fact, I would say that we have much LESS governing being done by our states and more being done by Fed Gov. What I am talking about the complete picture. Local, County, State, Federal.
