All deaths caused by another person are called homicide by definition. When a person is executed by the state the coroner lists the death as a homicide.
That’s what I was thinking. So you can have negligent homicide, or justified homicide, or criminal homicide, or premeditated homicide, etc.
Or, I hope they decide in this case, self defense.
