One of my favs. Glad you got the reference.

I had 2 FFL appraisals ($188k & $197k) done for firearms/ammo/etc, and my 25yr-long homeowner's ins co quoted me $1,400/mo! That's 2½x what I'm now paying for converted single-payer health ins, now that the Family Farm group plan is gone. They said that jewelry and firearms are the 2 most heavily-involved fraud areas for reports, and are highest in cost. (I've got everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, well-documented with digital pics/paperwork, but that's supposedly irrelevant. I'm going to check into the NRA ins tomorrow; right now, in fact, I'm on their site.

I looked into getting a NRA Instructor certification to be able to take Clint Jr’s
Boy Scout troop shooting and the first class was $500, I think you needed
three classes to complete it.

Holy crap!
That’s ridiculous.
It’s the death of 1000 cuts with this stuff.

I am a woodcarver and had considered doing gun engraving.
The tools are expensive and there is no fudge factor when you lay an engraved line.
I admire this art.

Let me know what you think about the NRA insurance. I don’t have the expensive Class 3’s you have but I have a Parker, 67 Belgium, and a couple Model 12’s plus a couple EBR’s + more. Not enough to put on a rider but if the NRA is legit maybe I’ll give it a look.

I used to do a lot of pen and ink.
You cant erase that, but holy moly! a fine gun?
You can throw paper away and start again, but a fine gun?
This Gal is confident.

Ridiculous how expensive.
Seems like the NRA is trying to make money instead of trying to promote gun safety.
To: smokingfrog; carriage_hill
I think my homeowners is cheaper. The jewelry is about the same and only $500+ a year.

Isn't it?
I like the Bulino work she does.
I think I could do that but it scares me.
Its like doing a tattoo. It's there forever!

Sounds like a private insurance rider is the way to go.

Good night, dear. Five a.m. comes early. Great thread!

Sounds like a private insurance rider is the way to go. And that's why I don't insure the guns because they are in a safe bolted to the ground.
