Sounds right, “tails you lose, heads I win.” What NYT Jack forgets to mention while trying to put words in our mouths is that Obama drove millions of people away from the polls by his governance. Even giving away the biggest bauble in Santa’s bag, the healthcare monstrosity, he lost millions of votes from his 2008 total. He has no similar gift to offer in his second term and implementation of Obamacare will cost Democrats even more votes, because it will fail miserably to do what they’ve promised. Since Obama has no other ideas, it is simple reasoning to see that the Democrats will be on a losing streak for years to come. At least our field is cleared of the “it’s my turn” carcasses that have all too often impeded us in selecting a Presidential candidate.
“He has no similar gift to offer in his second...”
There is always Amnesty. That could well give the Dems a permanent edge.
I wish I were as optimistic as you, the GOP are past masters at pulling defeat from the jaws of victory, it seems, willfully, sometimes. I now believe it’s because what they purport to stand for-the so-called “party platform”-is but the platitudes they fob off on us, while their true agenda is a globalist corporate one. It’s the same in Europe, they’re just ahead of the curve in being open about not anymore being a true, traditional conservative party.
Our GOP has had to deal with us “bitter clingers to guns and religion”, two things which haven’t been factors in Europe for a while.
