Thanks for the clarification. As you indicate, I’m not giving my own opinion about it, I’m speaking about populist pragmatics. Unfortunately the common road in politics now is to give up on core beliefs and follow whatever leads to the most votes. In such a case, the goal is to amass power rather than to better society.
