Gutierrez is a businessman they brought on board to do "Hispanic outreach." Clearly he didn't do a very good job. Maybe he's trying to cover for his own poor performance. We don't know if he was much of an adviser to Romney or just some outsider they brought in to work with Latino groups and make the appeal to Hispanics.

He was MORE than an advisor.

The 'Enjoy the consequences' comment presumes that someone cares more about enjoyment than maintaining ones principles.

I suppose there are a lot of weak sister like that here on FR.

I don't have to enjoy the consequences of maintaining my principles. There is a cost to freedom.

I'm like you. I sleep perfectly well.

Way to blame a conservative for not voting for your liberal.

Funny, I didn't blame you, in fact I wrote that you had every right to your opinion.

I simply stated there are consequences to that opinion, now you seem to be defensive and accusatory.

It does encourage me to further loathing of liberal supporters in the GOP.

I explained my opinion and loathing of the GOP, I thought quite clearly, I guess you didn't bother to read it.

What ever.

You lost because of massive voter fraud, you bunch of whimps!

Absolutely correct, but it would have been much harder if we had ran a real conservative.

I have said for years that polls are not predictive, they are simply palliative prep for what they have already decided to serve us. It does involve Both parties.

The left painted Romney as a flip flopper (based upon pure facts) and also said he would continue the Bush policies that got us into the financial crisis of ‘08. Then what did we see? All of the Bush family came out in support of Romney (a big major noose around his neck. All people could think about was Bush and the financial crisis after that.)

The Bushes were quite low-key this year. The father endorsed Romney in March and then went back to jumping from planes or whatever he's doing nowadays. The son was endorsed Romney back in May and then disappeared. The other son made some foolish comments that didn't have much to do with Romney. I doubt it was enough to move anybody one way or the other.

Now we get blamed for his loss!

Yeah, but by whom? Some guy nobody ever heard of before who Romney brought on board to help with the Hispanic vote. Somebody who couldn't do the job who's looking for a scapegoat now.

This is the classic Internet thing where somebody digs up some obscure comment by some unknown commenter and people get all indignant about it as though it were really something significant.

The truth is that Mr. Romney put Obama in the White House
by Romney's surrogates' attacks on Gov. Palin.

Mr. Romney's VICIOUS attitude to conservatives
(but subservient to Obama most of the time) continued.

Who can forget?:

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Similar to Romney's other scortched earth tactics:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Dream on Carlos. If we continue to do it the RINO way, there will be no more GOP. Get used to it.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,”

*****
Which is why we need to leave the GOP and form a new party.

We lost because Romney is a stiff. Everyone knows you don’t buy the product, you buy the person.

Yes. If they could just get rid of us, the Republican Party would move forward with being the Democratic Party’s “Me, too!” chorus.

Of course, he means, by “far right” is the Tea Party..
WHich is the source of many of the votes Romney got..

Interesting to know what “the top” of the Romney ticket..
thought about most of their voters..

Most voted against Obama not for Romney..
The republican party is “very sick” at the TOP..

Other than massive voter fraud thats WHY Romney DIDn’T win..
A hard saying is, AMerica got what it wanted and by the way DESERVED as President..

America is set up to make Sodom look like a “test case”..
RAP music and a Maggot as president will make for a nasty musical..

With not Zigfeld as director but LArry Flint..

It is time for the GOP to tell conservatives, “We Want You”. If they don’t, I think it is time to go 3rd Party. The answer to your statement was made Tuesday at the RNC in August. The rules changes the GOP-e and Ruling Class foisted at the pound of Boehner's gavel to vocal protests in opposition that were ignored - is that the Establishment in the GOP does NOT WANT CONSERVATIVE IDEALs/PRINCIPLES IN THE PARTY .

Those rules changes were targeted at the TEA Party and grassroots Conservatives like Palin from EVER being able to wrest control of the GOP from the Establishment. Period.

It's time for a Conservative 3rd party. I'm never voting for a GOP candidate ever again. Let them fold themselves into the Democrat party - where most of them actually belong - or remain in the party that should go the way of the Whigs.

Unfortunately that is not entirely true and hasn't been since Reagan.

Duh, because we have not ran a conservative and that includes the Bush family.

Time to use the same trick the Abolitionists used to found the Republican party ~ simply create a NEW REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE and invite existing compatible state parties or organizations to send delegates. They picked up both Abolitionist organizations AND State WHIG Party organizations intact!

Finally! Finally, someone has the right answer. Outstanding post. This sort of principled reset/restart is LONG overdue.

No one has yet lived up to the ideals so eloquently expressed in our founding documents. Why not us?

What better set of principles to unite behind than our own nation's original ideals, especially now given the clear and present danger to those ever eroding principles for which we stand?

I know that's what I long for and would be wholeheartedly enthusiastic for. I'll bet I am not alone.

Well, I guess the GOP has declared war on white males too, thanks GOP, white males are the new boogeymen, Martin Luther King Jr. wanted us to judge one another by the content of one’s character rather than the color of one’s skin, well, our leadership, like the Democrats, are a**holes and racists, thanks for nothing GOP!
