IAEA Report on Iranian's Nuclear Program

As previously reported, in resolution GOV/2011/69, the Board stressed that it was essential for Iran and the Agency to intensify their dialogue aimed at the urgent resolution of all outstanding substantive issues for the purpose of providing clarifications regarding those issues, including access to all relevant information, documentation, sites, material and personnel in Iran.

In that resolution, the Board also called on Iran to engage seriously and without preconditions in talks aimed at restoring international confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.

In light of this, from January 2012 onwards, Agency and Iranian officials held several rounds of talks in Vienna and Tehran, including during a visit by the Director General to Tehran in May 2012. However, no concrete results were achieved.

In particular, there was no agreement on a structured approach to resolving outstanding issues related to possible military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear programme and no agreement by Iran to the Agency’s request for access to the Parchin site.

How about the part of the report that says the IAEA wants Iran to restore "international confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme".

Troubling but not surprising, this report echoes what many of us have posted about for years.

The doc is a good read. Bottom line, Iran has easily enough of a robust uranium processing program to produce as many atomic weapons as they wish. Too late to stop it. Anytime they want they can divert fuel to untouchable facilities for enrichment to 90%+ (my opinion).

What is left is to interdict the weaponization platforms.

Parchin is important because processed uranium pellets need to be converted to a kind of "ingot" that can be machined into the shapes needed for a gun-type atomic bomb. That processing is a highly dangerous, high temp melt down, best done in a remote location like Parchin.

This report also hints at other highly concealed weaponization activities that have been elusive so far.

Having taken a quick glance at the “summary” suggests that the agency is saying that they don’t have the first clue of what’s going on at one or more facilities thanks to deliberate steps taken by Iran to impede the agency’s access.Translation,they’re building a bomb and are using the “negotiations” as a stalling tactic.My hunch is that the Israeli government...and people...will find this to be *very* disturbing.
