She was right to display her gun to make clear that she was capable of protecting herself as she walked away, but being in public and being offended in a non-violent way doesnt mean that you gun down people to assert your control over public space.
Perfectly stated. That was my point. What if he didn't leave, would she have shot him? I think she was right to at least grab the gun because of how disturbed this person was, I would have. But her instant reflex to threaten to kill him over being offended...Doesn't the story say he was sitting down while doing this...
I'm not defending him, he should have been immediately arrested and carted off by the men in white coats.
