After what we have seen this November, how is any American ever supposed to trust the integrity of our elections ever again?  There were over 70,000 reports of voting problems on election day, and there are numerous eyewitnesses that claim that they saw voting machines change votes for one candidate to another candidate right in front of their eyes.  In several of the swing states there were counties where the number of registered voters exceeded the total voting age population by a very wide margin.  How in the world does that happen?  Some of the vote totals that were reported in some of the most important swing states were completely and totally absurd, and yet we are just supposed to accept them on blind faith without ever being able to ask any questions.  Of course the Romney campaign has already totally given up, so it isn’t as if there is any chance that the results of the presidential election could be overturned anyhow.  But if massive election fraud did take place and nobody is held accountable, what kind of message will that send for the future?  Will we ever be able to have faith in the integrity of our elections ever again?

Yes, there was fraud, but we are stuck with it. The oval office, the senate and the supreme court are corrupt, and will never do anything about it. The Republican party is a bunch of wimps and will never fight it.

Contact your state SOS dept and your Governor. Get interviews with these officials on video and publish them far and wide. Have the voting machines seized by the SOS office and examined by computer hacker experts.

Get lists of voters who voted and verify they exist.

I recall an odd incident as the campaign got underway----Axelrod took CBS News on a tour of what was being billed as O's campaign war room. But to my eyes---it was completely staged----there were people sitting at computers and at desks---but nothing was going on.

I now believe O had literally no campaign operation b/c they had the whole thing fixed from the get go. Oh sure---they went through the motions--but it was all faked.

O says he had the "first" billion dollar campaign---so did he report to the FEC where he spent all that money?

I hope eventually we can stop making excuses and start dealing with reality. Pretending that voter fraud cost the election is not part of reality.

Many of the claims in this piece have been debunked, but those facts are ignored because people want a good excuse, rather than the truth.

I think the 2nd commenter makes an excellent point, even if they didn’t mean to do so — Do you really think that 30 REPUBLICAN governors are deliberately ignoring obvious election fraud?

Better question — do you have any idea how hard it is to RUN FOR OFFICE? The sacrifices, the cost, the time, the energy? Figure that one out, and then answer this question — why would ANYBODY who has gone through that much effort just WALK AWAY from “obvious” election fraud?

The answer is clear — they wouldn’t. Allen West isn’t an anomaly — that is what ANY person who had the drive to actually run for office would do, if they thought there was a shot at winning.

But somehow, armchair anonymous internet posters think they are the ones who care, and that the actual people who ran for office are all mindless, clueless dolts who ignore having their races stolen from them.

Exit question — why would any of you who believe this stuff want to FIGHT to put into office politicians who you think are so stupid that they can’t see obvious fraud, and so cowardly or lazy that they would fail to fight for their own election results?

The argument falls flat on it’s face.

But nobody is going to argue with you all, because it’s a fools’ errand. There was fraud, there were bad results reported, there are and will always bee things that go wrong, and sometimes it can change the outcome of races. These things all have to be investigated.

But unfortunately, that reality gives those arguing for the “stealing of the election” just enough cover to fuel their righteous indignation that anybody would question them.

So we will have to put up with more postings of stories about how 141% of the registered voters actually voted, as if that makes sense in ANY reality we deal with (for the record, the number was “ballots”, and there were 2 ballots per voter, and turnout was 70%).

And stories about how it is “statistically impossible” that a precinct could vote 100-0 for Obama. When in fact this happens all the time, and also when in fact statistics are meaningless in this context, because voting is not random, populations are not rationally mixed, and those claiming that there can’t be places where there are no republicans have probably never actually visited any of these places where there are no republicans, because if they did, they would understand.

I believe that if there are just two or more honest dedicated to the Constitution congresspersons this catalog of election fraud can be used to undo the certification of electoral votes on December 17. Any action prior to that time which can be/will be a challenge should be put on front burner. As for me , it wouldn’t bother me if a lot of Obama enabler’s petitioned their leader to take severe action against anyone signing up for secession. The pot would really start to boil. I want to see some real opposition to the electoral votes by/within our ‘government of the people and for the people’.

The “vote changing” machines were bogus. This is a touch screen problem that happens when you’re standing at an ATM machine. You’re actually touching a touch-sensitive panel above the screen and when you’re standing up your finger may not be aligned correctly.

This is why you may find it easier to use a touch ATM sitting in your car rather than standing up.

I'm lazy at this point. You can actually research the pieces you post, or you can just assume they are correct, ignore people who warn you otherwise, and go on with your life.

I've been looking for concrete examples of voter fraud to write about. They exist, but most of the overblown statements have been debunked. It isn't trivial to find this, but doing so will be a good exercise. Sometimes it is hard to sort through the google searches to get to the facts, especially when a meme has taken hold, because everybody with a blog (which is what, like a million people) all breathlessly post the same mistaken information as if they are some how adding value to the discussion.

I could have picked on almost a dozen threads posted, don't feel like I singled your post out, it was just where I was reading when I decided to vent.

BTW, one thing that makes it hard to find evidence debunking claims is that, when the claims have no basis in fact, nobody will be reporting "facts" that debunk it, because that would be boring. A reporter isn't going to write a story about how some blogger thinks there was 141% turnout.

To show how hard this really is, I focused on a specific claim, about a precinct in Richmond which voted all for Obama. Since Virginia has a great voter information web site, it made it a little easier. I found the precinct, and then went back over the past 5 elections to see how it voted. There was a redistricting, so I had to check that the precinct didn't change all that much.

I found that there were rarely any republican voters in that precinct. Romney did particularly bad, but not "way outside the general performance of the precinct" bad.

I couldn't do this for precincts in Philidelphia, because I can't find an online source of precinct-level information, although I believe it exists somewhere.

I did the same thing for some Ohio counties mentioned, and found the same results. I also did an analysis of Ohio and found that the number of precincts that had 10 or fewer republicans in 2012 was about the same as the number in 2008.

BTW, note that most of the complaints here are statistical, and we aren't talking about the cases where we think illegals might have voted, or that people might be registered in more than one place. Those are pretty much impossible to "debunk", because when there are NO prosecutions, those making the claim will say that nobody cared to look into it.

Assuming you think that obvious voter fraud cost SOMEONE an election somewhere, and you have a specific race you would like me to comment on, respond with it, and I'll do my best to do some research on that race, and tell you what I learn.

And while I research, I'd hope that you would think about, and answer, the question -- why is that politician you are looking at NOT fighting the results, if you are so certain they should have won?
