NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -
A group of Wal-Mart workers are planning to stage a walkout next week on Black Friday, arguably the biggest holiday shopping day for the world's largest retail store.
The walkout builds on an October strike that started at a Wal-Mart in Los Angeles and spread to stores in 12 other cities. More than 100 workers joined in the October actions.
One of the workers who plans to join next week's walkout is William Fletcher, who works at a Wal-Mart in Duarte, Calif.

A group of Wal-Mart workers are planning to stage a walkout next weekWalking off the job is grounds for dismissal.
Fire anyone who walks away from their duties. There are a lot of people in this country who need a job desperately, and would love to work that day. In fact, they'd be happy to work any day. A job is a job.
If WalMart lets the uneducated wack jobs get away with making executive decisions for them, WalMart will go the way of Hostess.
Fire anyone one who walks off right on the spot. No if's, no and's, and no but's. No exceptions.

I’ll believe it, when I see it....
Just because the Morons.Borg goons in the media claim something will happen, doesn’t mean it does when it’s time for it.

More "jobs saved or created" for Obama to crow about. With the oboma economy today, it might be a good time for Walmart to downsize. Because no one is working and no one can afford to buy anything, those people don't have that much to do anyway. This is a good excuse to clean house and get rid of the fiscal dead weight.
They can just let them go and move on without any disruptions. If the economy improves (fat chance), Walmart can rehire better, more reasonable employees in their place.
That's what I would do without a second thought.

so all you unemployed freepers (if there are any), can take their resume, and go hang out at WalMarts next week, and see if you can get hired on the spot!

Normally I dont support union-like tactics like walk-outs, but since one of the family owners (one of Sam Waltons sons) is a big Obama supporter, I find it humorously ironic that this is happening to him, and therefore I have no problem supporting the employees in this particular case. If he supports Obama because of his beliefs, he deserves it what he gets. On the other hand, Wal Mart has been under attack for years. He could be using his "support" as a form of insurance. There are a lot of fools out there.

Just curious: Can anyone name a retailer that has unionized employees?

No joke. Everytime I go in one, there are tons of cash registers - most of them closed, lots of shoppers walking around relativily uninteracted with, and chaos in general.
Of course, if I worked at WalMart, I'd hide from
The People of WalMart, too. Some of the people I've seen
as a customer make me want to go on strike. From the world.

The unions have been trying to take down Walmart for years.
I don't care if Sam Jr. donated to Obama. At least he kept his shop open against every imaginable onslaught for years now.
If Walmart goes down, well that's one less shred of hope for the free market.

I actually lasted 9 months working at Walmart...
...because I was doing three people's worth of work.
You wouldn't have lasted that long in a union shop. They don't appreciate hard workers taking work away from others.

"Even if there aren't that many people, it could have an effect, because their campaign in front of stores could discourage shoppers," said Ken Margolies, senior associate at the Worker Institute a Cornell University. LMAO...those protesting workers will bet mowed down when the crowds come rushing at them.

I don’t know how Walmart is going to replace these highly skilled associates before next Friday. LOL! Well, NASA has been put out of business by Barry Benghazi. Maybe they can pick up some of those guys.
