I think WW2 actually destroyed this country. That generation was so traumatized they decided their children wouldn’t want for anything.
Thus they coddled their little brats that became left wing jerks in the late 1960’s. We’ve been going down hill ever since. They’ve helped to create the massive growth of centralized government.
Yup, the so-called “greatest Generation” had the guts in their youth to overcome the FDR Depression and defeat tyranny around the globe, but in their maturity they sowed the seeds for tyranny at home. I lay this all at their feet. they were too gutless to instill decency in their children and voted for the establishment of an ever growing permanent welfare state.
