The increase in TV commercial time has a lot to do with this. As just one example, some 30 minute TV Land shows have been increased to 36 minutes in length. Yep, 6 additional minutes of commercials.
Penny wise perhaps, but pound foolish.

I have DISH and it arrives with 200 channels and I would guess I watch about 5-6 during the course of a month. They force high prices with lots of channels you don’t need. I did see this past week they added the ME-TV - all the shows of the 60’s-70’s. Combat, Emergency, The Rifelman, The Wild Wild West however they are only on half of the day.
