The highest-ranking enlisted person at the Naval Submarine Base is retiring after an investigation into allegations that he drank for several hours at a club on the base and got into an altercation with his wife at a local bar.

Exactly! I realize that in the Hollywood story, they made him out to be the bad guy, but what he says in that monolog is true.
Sailors (and their wives) drink a lot more than they (or members of the other services (should).
Jessup was right, all Cruise and his lawyers did was to “weaken a country.”
In your Navy, and my dad’s, attending happy hour was pretty much part of the job.

As for me, I know my limit.
But I always pass out before reaching it.
