I thunk Tom Sowell has it right. Romney has not through through the political issues as Reagan did. We now know that Reagan was a closeted intellectual, who had spent thousands of hours thinking about politics since his days as a union leader. Not only was he a reader, but a journalist who wrote his own radio scripts. Sowell compares him with Peyton Manning, or any other experienced quarterback. Long years of experience enabler him to read the situation, and act accordingly. Romney on the other hand is the talented rookie quarterback who has to think through ever situation. Politicians such as Madison, or Lincoln, or FDR, and Reagan make mistakes, but they know how to correct them. Amateurs, such as Carter and Romney, don’t.

I forgot to add: Paul Ryan, despite his youth, would have been a better candidate than Romney.
