He could have asked Clinton to resign that day with Kerry, Moynahan on the Senate floor, he didn't. He put us through what was it 33 days of hell with Bush v Gore in FLA, he could have been a gentleman and asked Al not to do this for the sake of the country, and he didn't. He was one of that should have voted for Impeachment,
So true.
In fact, Joe Lieberman has had several opportunities to play "Tiberius at the Bridge". He failed every time:
1. Gore-Bush, as you cite.
2. Clinton impeachment, as you cite.
3. Obamacare. He could've voted "No", in behalf of his home state insurance industry, and ended the entire sick process. Instead, he negotiated a temporary reprieve for his home state insurance industry...and voted "Aye".
Three opportunities the man had to act in favor of America and its citizens...and he failed on every one of them.
Joe Lieberman, a "man of conscience"? Perhaps. But a weak man, without question.
