A man was tasered by police after he picked up his garden hose and attempted to stop a fire spreading that was threatening to engulf his home.
Dan Jensen, 42, awoke from a nap last Thursday when he hear his wife, Angela, also 42, scream that the house next door at 3420 Beechwood Terrace N in Tampa Bay was ablaze.
When the father of two went outside, the fire had already engulfed his neighbors home and a fence in between the two houses and the flames were starting to lick the corners of the Jensens' home.

I’m beginning to wonder what will make these thugs stop their abuse of power. People can’t seem to get around the police union protection power structure to seek justice and change.
The lack of justice and the rule of law, abandons people to the remedy of revenge.
Welcome to Mexico!
The guy is actually very lucky. Even the worst shyster in town should be able to get him a few hundred thousand bucks for his “humiliation”, “pain” and “suffering”.
Am with you!
Not that I have any hate for them, its just plain to see they are smart as a box of rocks and rarely actually HELP.
Yeah but it has to be a big dog, the small ones are too hard to hit.
Same here.
Not sure but I think they all are.
Job security.
They are hoping to do that next time.
It is coming, we have lots of them here now.
I would be thinking more like 7 or 8 figures.

If the officers were not equipped with a Taser, what would have been their course of action, beat the man with night sticks (the Billy Ray Valentine option)? shoot him (assuming his dog was unavailable)? Send in a police dog? Let the man fight the fire until the fire dept arrived (no, that one is waaaaaaay over the top).
I wonder if there is a properly conducted study about the propensity of a LEO to over-react when a non-lethal-force tool (e.g. Taser) is available.
Was he using water from a rain barrel? That’s a crime in some states..
The cops do not have to explain to us, lets be series.
I’ve lost almost all respect for the institutions I grew up believing good.
More than once, I’ve seen people become completely irrational in their efforts to fight a fire. The police may have done him a great favor so that he will be alive to bitch about being saved from his own idiocy.
I like what one of the comments at the site said. Sue the cops and the city, that’s what insurance is for! lol
Yep a capital crime in some states.
Yes, they have earned that loss of respect.
You are clueless.
