The End Of The Karl Rove Death Grip Signals A Reagan Renaissance
Forbes ^ | 11/12/12 | Ralph Benko

Liberals do not grasp the distinction between Ronald Reagan and (either) George Bush. This blind spot creates a massive confusion and hazard to their ambitions. Obama defeated neither the Reagan Narrative nor Team Reagan. Team Bush appropriated, and then marginalized, both. Obama beat Team Bush, not Team Reagan. The implications are huge.

There was a touchy relationship between President Reagan and his Vice President George H.W. Bush. They were rivals during the primaries. Bush attacked the Reagan economic agenda as “voodoo economics.” Bush served faithfully as VP for eight years but Reagan and Bush never warmed to one another. There was precious little rapport between the populist figures populating the Reagan circle and the Eastern establishment retinue of the son of the patrician Sen. Prescott Bush.

” Run another cheerful capitalist who promises to use his Olympics experience to fix the economy, but never really seizes those grievances and goes for the throat?”

Romney brought a cap pistol to a gunfight. Never has worked, never will work. When you run against a thug, you have to out battle the thug.

I realize and I suspect he will destroy Texas trying to install handsome baby Jeb as Governor.

I wish we could send Boehner and Rove off to a deserted island.

We give them a few boxes of tissue and a dry erase board—that way Rove can figure all the variances and percentages for Boehner’s tissue rations. Because you know Boehner will be blubbering.

I can dream...

Wipe out Rove, Bush 1 and Bush 2 from Conservative history, all 3 were nothing more than traitors to this country!

Superb article, although I read Rubio as a Bush circle protege.

Glad someone else caught this. I understand the desire to see a hispanic surname among the GOP's rising stars, but lets first make sure their surname, and maybe some nice sounding rhetoric, aren't the only reason we support them.

Whenever I hear HW Bush and Reagan mentioned together for some reason I think of the former using the occasion of the latter’s memorial service to make crappy jokes about Millie, his dog.

He was an embarrassment indeed, what with his panicky little white board act about Cincinnati saving Ohio and the nation for Romney. All smoke, no substance at all. Rove failed, as did all the conservative einsteins who assured us Romney had Ohio well in hand. May as well jettison the whole pack--nobody knew what the hell was going on.
