Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Tuesday said the White House used David Petraeuss affair to get the CIA director to give testimony about the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that was in line with the administrations position on the matter.
Appearing on Fox News's Special Report, Krauthammer said, "The sword was lowered on Election Day" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Think about that long and hard...... President Biden????
Impeachable?
67 votes required in the Senate.
We don't know what he Petraeus said to Congress. We only know what some Rat Congressman claims Petraeus said.
What could have happened in Benghazi for Obama to go to such lengths to cover up?
It has to be huge, more than the theories being thrown around for the last few months.
My guess would be that the Kenyan is collaborating with our Islamic enemies.
What do you think is being covered up?
There’s a big party being planned for January. Maybe it would be a good time for the Tea Party to have their next DC Protest - demanding resignation instead of inauguration.
Despite his having an affair, I still believe Petreaus to be a man of honor when it comes to his country which is all he has left. I’d be suprised if his wife sticks with him through all this.
The fact that he took this scandal away from Obama tells me he’s gonna sing and sing loud.
Sad thing when I’d rather see Biden move up to the presidency than keep oblunder.
The fact that he took this scandal away from Obama tells me hes gonna sing and sing loud.

I pray that you are right. But I bet you anything that he is being threatened. AND his wife seems to be a big ‘lib’.

Probably true but, now that the sword has been used to chop his neck, if Patreus truly is the great solider he’s been sold as, he no longer needs to toe the party line and will let the Benghazi cat out of the bag. In other words, whatever dirt there might be regarding Benghazi, it’s Patreus who will let it fly. If he still stays quiet, the game is up and Obama skates.
Question:
What if a civil crimes has been committed? Is a sitting president immune to criminal indictment?
Blackmail!!!!!
There is a BIG party going on right now: HOW ABOUT OVERTURNING THE ELECTION???
(ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!)
These elections are NOT certified yet. The only way to get this investigated, much less recounted or overturned, is through the Secretary of State of each of the five key states: Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. EVEN IF YOU ARE IN ANOTHER STATE you can help.
Even if the House approves Articles of Impeachment there is no way he would be convicted by a Democrat majority Senate. Thats how Clinton walked
Hence the need for Massive Voter Fraud.
It doesn't matter. Americans don't care unless the television tells them they should.
From your keyboard to God’s ears. At this point, what are his options? Does he trade his silence for a failure to prosecute under the UCMJ? Or or the “safety” of his children? Does he have more to lose than what remains of his honor? What happens to the morale of everyone who serves in the armed forces (never mind the CIA) if he caves? Wouldn’t he rather be a hero to those he’s led than those whose favor he sought in D. C.?
Ironically, this one wouldn’t be “just about sex.” Everything depends on how this is couched, how the questioners in the House “discover” that this was blackmail. Enough of them are former prosecutors to know how to elicit damaging, explosive testimony. Can Dem senators refuse to believe what comes out of such questioning? Certainly, some will stand with the pubbies. I just wonder which offense will carry more weight—the blackmail or the fact that he allowed four Americans to die.
Republicans also had a hand in it.
I would much rather have the moronic jackass Biden in power than the outright evil Obama.
