Do you believe your Lords are saner than our loony legislators? That is a tough one.
If it were not for the will of the Commons prevailing (and making the entire system look bad), going on past performance and how much their existence annoyed Labour....Yes.
I may be biased, because the thought of loosing them scares the daylights out of me.

That is a tough one. You seem to be widening the differences between our govts. Calling themselves the “ruling class” our Senate and House are totally loony and completely tainted..
