The philanthropic arm of shipping giant UPS said it will no longer give money to the Boy Scouts of America as long as the group discriminates against gays, the second major corporation to recently strip funding from the scouts. The UPS Foundation made the change Thursday after an online petition protesting its annual grants to the Boy Scouts attracted more than 80,000 signatures. UPS, based in Atlanta, follows computer chip maker Intel in withdrawing corporate support for the Boy Scouts. The UPS Foundation gave more than $85,000 to the Boy Scouts in 2011, according to its federal tax return. Federal tax returns for 2011 for Intel, the world's largest chip maker, were not immediately available. Some media reported the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company as giving hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years.

The growing public acceptance of homosexual behavior is bad enough but discriminating via corporate donations against a fine organization that excludes homosexuals on a moral basis is, in my view, a very bad omen for the future of our nation. Then again, Obama was re-elected so we are definitely living in Bizzaro Land, now.

I emailed UPS and told them how I felt. Probably won’t matter, but it made me feel better.
I hate UPS. Our driver throws boxes from his truck, complains whenever we schedule a package pickup that we pay for and when we complain to the company about him the rep or supervisor admonishes us for complaining. I use Fed Ex or believe it or not U.S. Mail.
What the hell are the Boy Scouts to do? If they don’t allow gay scout masters, they lose funding. If they do, the gay pedophiles in that group molest young scouts and the Boy Scouts get sued. Kinda looks like checkmate for the scouts.
FedEx is pretty anti-union. I used to work there. They had a poster up that showed that union membership was going down while their driver jobs are going up.

There are some companies that only ship UPS or USPS. Guess those will fail to get our bidness now. The only good thing about UPS was the drivers always gave our dog “puppy treats” when they came to the door.
