Here is how it is done in Indiana.
When you come in you show your ID and sign the poll book. You then are given your ballot. After filling out your ballot it is put through the Scantron machine which records the vote or the ballot is sealed and turned back into the judges. At the end of the day the number of ballot cast is compared to the number of voters who signed the book and they have to match. The ballots are then transported with chain of custody to the central tallying location in each county to be counted. Again the number of voters signed in across the county is matched against the number of votes cast before the results are sent to the SoS office. Seems simple to me.
There should be NO electronic tallying.
No early voting.
Paper ballots kept as chain of evidence.
Both C and R poll watchers sign off personally on the validity of the ballots and they are tallied by hand at a central location.
High tech bells and whistles are just multiplying the ways fraud is occurring.
People stupidly trusting machines that are easily hacked by Rats.
