Did Thomas Jefferson ask King George if the colonies could secede?

No - he (and the other signers of the DOI) told the king “We’re out of here, and you can go to the Nether Regions”.

You are absolutely wrong. The Founding Fathers exerted extensive efforts for more than a year to avoid the necessity of declaring independence. It was only the British Crown’s insistence upon abrogating the Royal charters and the lawfully constituted colonial governments that provoked and made a necessity of rebelling against a British Government in which the colonists were deprived of legislative and reasonable judicial representation.

Subsequent to the gaining of independence, the Founding Fathers as leaders of the new confederation and then federation of states were challenged by rioters, insurrectionists, and rebels. In each instance these Founding Fathers observed how the rebels were not in the same circumstance as the colonists were in the War of Independence, and therefore the rebels confronting the United States Government and the state government had no legitimate basis upon which to claim the same causes as the rebels in the War of Independence.

Likewise, the current fashion for secession is illegal, immoral, and without any right to claim the justifications used in the War of Independence. On the contrary, the would be secessionists in effect advocate a course of action that would wrongfully alienate individuals, families, businesses, and the common cefense in furtherence of the enemy desier to bring about the disunion of the United States as part of a divide and conquer strategy. Every person who advocates this illegal secession is giving direct aid and comfort to the Obama Administration, the Democrats, domestic Communists, foreign Communists, and other belligerant foreign governments and organizations.

Worse still is the fact that secession, even if it were not illegal, serves no useful purpose whatsoever in combatting the malfeasance in the domestic governments. Instead, advocating secession is akin to shooting a hand off to let the hand drag itself off and leave the rest of the body behind. This can only be described as one of the most stupid and foolish acts of unnecessary and unproductive acts of self-destruction imaginable.

Why then would anyone with half of a working brain for one moment choose to help the Communist agents provoke such self-destructivee measures?
