Former Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele is floating the idea of running for his old post again.
In an interview on C-SPAN on Sunday, Steele was first asked if he thought current RNC Chairman Reince Priebus should run for another term. Priebus has suggested that he is leaning toward running for reelection.

We have people here who think his having had 3 wives, two of them felons, is more important than his service to the American people ~
No that was the last straw for me to hell with him
“Hip Hop” Steele?
Lord have mercy...Of course he is right up the GOP’s alley!
I say this as an Akin supporter, no amount of money Priebus or anyone else could’ve lavished on him would’ve saved that race. Akin had a lead and blew it with that one single comment. No Republican male should open their mouth on the subject of pregnancy via rape, because no matter how well-intentioned, it blows up in their face. Had Akin and Mourdock kept quiet and addressed other issues, both would be Senators-elect.
We now have fewer RINOs ~ and there will be fewer in the future.
The RNC chairman should not be picking winners and losers like Preibus tried to do ~ he probably lost us 12 seats in the Senate besides losing the general election. His involvement in skullduggery in state primaries began early ~ he was always known to be a Romney partisan anyway.
Better the Chairman speak well of everyone with soft words and stay out of politics.
And since the GOP is interested in re-treads, they might as well run McCain again too.
First principles first ~ Steele is full bore Right to Life. The other stuff is second.
BTW, the Utah crowd guessed wrong all the way around ~ all their plans crashed.
For the record, I don’t want Priebus reelected, either. But a return to Steele is 100% unacceptable. I paid close attention to him, and he demonstrated precisely why I had him almost dead last in whom should have that job (with only the execrable Saul Anuzis below him) back in 2009. We need new blood. A ruthless fighter, not a gutless wonder.
Well, whatever, Preibus was a disastrous choice. All those state chairmen or national committeemen who voted for him should bow out of Republican politics now. Their judgment was quite faulty.
Lugar deserved to get dumped. He was a collaborationist with the Democrats and had been for a long time. He should’ve been “retired” a quarter century ago. Nobody knew Mourdock’s own mouth would cost him a safe GOP seat.
Bingo, Allen West would be ideal. the only thing Steele promoted in the RNC was nepotism and financial irresponsibility. west is a take-no-prisoners fighter— which is what the Republicans have been lacking for a long time in their leadership.

Yes, many do need replacing. So should the ones who voted for Steele (or would do so now), if they are still around.
He was not a good candidate.
