Forgive me but going to Westmoreland county brought back memories. I once drove from the west side..far west...of Pgh to WAY into Westmoreland county in about 25 minutes....should have taken a lot longer but I was young and stupid and driving a car that could easily cruise at over 150 mph...Jaguar XJ6.
That’s also the car I used to take the then future mrs p6 (and other gals!) out on dates. It looked kinda like a Rolls and in 71 it was a chick magnet!
I would take my dates out into this rural area on a dirt road behind a country club to see The Ghost of Country Club Hill. I wrote a story about it.
The cool part was the Jag had 2 gas tanks that read off the same gas guage.
I could start out with one tank full and then when I parked on the back road to watch for The Ghost I would secretly flip the switch to the other, empty tank!
Later I would flip the switch back to the full tank, pretend I didn’t know that happened and get my date home just in time.
Good times, good times...sigh!
P6...(smiles!) this is a totally other side to you!!! Was the Country Club Irwin or Lincoln Hills (LH now has upscale Bob Shuster Homes but there—everytime I play PowerBall I think of that neighborhood—hey, I can dream!)
The fire was in an industrial park off Colonial Manor Road. When I heard all the sirens (constant for a long time—general alarm?) I turned to my scanner app on my phone. The VFD were there all night; got a nixle text about an hour ago that road that goes from US 30 to park finally openned...but it’s also a school bus stop heavy road. Not sure if the home close by have power back and gas service. We were very fortunate no serious injuries. No info on insurance, but our local FB page says they will rebuild.
