Did the Election Save ObamaCare?

In an imaginary world, government does things efficiently and economically. In that world, you would want government to provide health care.

In the real world, politicians cobbled together a monstrous piece of legislation called Obamacare, with a structure that cannot possibly be efficient or economical.

John C. Goodman at Townhall.com has a superb analysis of what Obamacare will do when reality comes up to bat.

If you read this at the source, you will see links to other supporting information. John Goodman:

The morning after Tuesday’s vote, there is one thing every commentator agreed on. The election of Barack Obama guaranteed that his signature piece of legislation — health reform — can now go forward. Republicans are powerless to stop it.

Yet there is something all these commentators are overlooking. There are six major flaws in ObamaCare. They are so serious that the Democrats are going to have to perform major surgery on the legislation in the next few years, even if all the Republicans do is stand by and twiddle their thumbs.

Here is a brief overview.

ObamaCare is not paid for. At least it’s not paid for in any politically realistic way. As is by now well known, the legislation will lower Medicare spending over the next 10 years by $716 billion in order to fund health insurance for young people. This reduction will primarily consist of lower payments to physicians, hospitals and other providers — reductions that are so severe that they will seriously impair access to care for senior citizens.

Liberals do not read this website. In the absence of a national press - how do we educate the very ignorant public?? Another sad video about the ignorance of the public here: http://www.realitybatslast.com/2012/11/10/karl-marx-karl-marx-obamaphones-obamaphones/

So Obamacare doesn't work. So what. It isn't about health care, it is about power and control. And if the elderly and other vulnerable populations die at a higher rate, that saves money. Funny thing about totalitarian regimes, - they kill people.

There are currently over 40 lawsuits against Obamacare by the Catholic church alone.

This administration spits on the Catholic Church and Christians in general. One more SCOTUS appointee...and so will the Court.

Liberal elites are going to destroy the country. If we try to stop them we’ll fail.

The only thing to accomplish by trying to stop them is their butt boys at the New York Times and Washington Post will have conservatives to blame.

It time to let citizens know who they really are... let them have their way. Every city will start becoming Detroit or Chicago. Crime, hopelessness and poverty... In four years the useful and not so useful idiots will be ready for change.

hence the dilemma. the catholic health association was a HUGE supporter of obamacare. there is a very liberal wing of the church that is in conflict with the bishops. the american hospital association supported obamacare. they are controled by a liberal board as well. ladies and gentlemen, we are simply screwed, unless we keep electing folks who will defund obamacare and repeal it no matter how long it takes. the bill is pure poison. have a nice day. the very people who supported are buffoons.

“This administration spits on the Catholic Church and Christians in general. One more SCOTUS appointee...and so will the Court.”

Isn’t it true that the majority fallen away Catholic vote went for obama? Why should he care about what the Catholic Church wants? The “Catholics” have empowered him against Christian religion.

“So Obamacare doesn’t work. So what. It isn’t about health care, it is about power and control”.

And $$ for those who are wired into the corruptocracy.

The taxpayer $$ lost to Obama’s green energy rip-off scams will be a drop in the bucket in relation to the scamming that Obamacare will unleash.

The Court could be dealt with in one fell swoop if there were the political will to accomplish the deed.

Umm the dems campaign still did an excellent job on blaming Bush for this economy. The Bush boogey-man tactic will work for the next several election cycles since the meme will be “Bush and Republicans irresponsible policies forced our hand.” This is the tactic you get when a political Party fails to defend itself, lol.

The problem is not Obama/dems voting base, the problems are Republican advisers who want to play “it” soft, compromised candidates (Moderates who do not offer any contrasting platforms on fiscal responsibility), and conservative Republican candidates eating themselves up during the primary. Conservative Repubs need to put ego and power whoring aside and pick the best candidate with the cleanest record and cunning as a hungry wolf. There are millions of untapped voters out there and millions more who are on a fragile fence who held their nose and voted for dems, they can be swayed with a candidate who inspires (Without all that hypocrisy).

Obamacare is the 1st stage in the move to single payer. The flaws in Obamacare are there to bring that about.

We have no hope to stop it because we do not have any power. We are not going to get any power anymore either.

The ballot box is no longer viable. Yes, we will win a few seats here and there, but they won’t let us win enough to change what is on the horizon.

Lets face it. I read about the people who fought the first war, we just are not cut out of that cloth anymore. We have always known it was coming, but as with everything, the can just gets kicked down the road and we wait for results in the next phony election.

no, the problem is a failure of political will ~ by the GOP-e. As we told them repeatedly, Romney can’t win and he didn’t

If a man steals your car does the car belong to him?

If a man steals your Social Security number does the number belong to him?

If a man steals your vote does it belong to him?

If a man steals a presidential election does the presidency belong to him?

"...failure of political will ~ by the GOP-e"

Lol, I believed I described that but let some details fall; How can you win with a Presidential candidate that has a record of expanding bureaucratic programs (Calling for fiscal sanity) along with a VP candidate who begs for stimulus cash while denouncing the stimulus (Calling for fiscal sanity), lol? How can you win when advisers worry about being called insensitive when unmercifully attacking an opponent in the opposite Party (Racists, can;t formulate a defense with the Bush economy, etc...)? And we still wonder why 40+% of eligible voters stay home.

During the presidential campaign, Ron Paul was asked whether the Republicans would succeed in overturning Obamacare.

Paul said: I don’t know about that, but regardless, Obamacare will be overturned by the laws of economics.

One can pretty much extend that to the entire cradle to grave welfare state now reignant in the West (as Europe is sadly discovering).

The difference is this: overturning Obamacare by legislation or court ruling would have been quick and painless. The gradual unraveling of the law due to its own errors and contradictions will be long and painful.

Absolutely. Even if Romney won we would have been stuck with some kind of an unconstitutional health care bill just with a different name.
