Wouldn’t fiscal conservatism include the philosophy of paying down the debt? And wouldn’t that require SOME increase in revenue?
When we held the line on the 10-for-1 offer, that made us look like fools. Our battle should not be “No tax increases, EVER!” Our battle should be to ensure that we get real spending cuts and not the shell game Democrats are offering.
Agree to modest tax increases on the wealthy that will sunset in 10 years. Agree to the 10-for-1 deal, but stand firm on real spending cuts.
There is never any REAL cuts.
