Outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus’ resignation over an extramarital affair was reportedly held until after Tuesday’s election to avoid “potential embarrassment” for President Barack Obama, according to Newsmax.
FBI agents learned of the affair while monitoring Petraeus’ emails out of concern that the woman, Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell, may have had access to his personal account, the Associated Press reported.
But an FBI source told Ronald Kessler, the author and journalist who broke the Secret Service prostitution scandal, that rather than having Petraeus resign immediately, the decision was made to hold it until after the election for political purposes:
[T]he White House, with concurrence by the FBI and Justice Department, held off on asking for Petraeus’ resignation until after the election. His resignation occurred three days after the election, avoiding the possibility that Obama’s ill-fated appointment of Petraeus could become an issue in the election.
FBI agents on the case were aware that such a decision had been made to hold off on forcing him out until after the election and were outraged.
“The decision was made to delay the resignation apparently to avoid potential embarrassment to the president before the election,” an FBI source says. “To leave him in such a sensitive position where he was vulnerable to potential blackmail for months compromised our security and is inexcusable.”

Was there anything that wasn’t held back to protect him until after the election?
Well DUH. All that effort to keep it hidden for nothing though. Obama voters do not CARE if he screwed an under age midget on the white house lawn while setting puppies on fire. They are low life takers who wanted to keep their perceived gravy train of Federal hand outs rolling coupled with extreme white guilt of not blaming the poor black man for the evil white man’s problem (Bush did it).
Ought to be a law against it and I think there is. Just another expansion of Obama’s watergate. Can’t wait until this corrupt marxist usurper is frog marched out of the W/H.
Of course. The Washington compost had an article detailing the Petraeus story. Supposedly, all of this was presented to James Clapper, Petraus’s boss 2 weeks ago. He reportedly demanded Petraeus’s resignation...but it did not occur until today...conveniently missing the election and over the weekend also to limit its impact on the news cycle.
To me this may have criminal implications of coverup.
You’re wishful thinking of you believe that anyone in DC with an R in front of their name has the guts to go after the first black President and try and get him impeached or removed from office. And you’re also wishful thinking if you think the media and general public would let that happen either. The best and only chance we had was Tuesday and as the song goes; Tuesday is gone with the wind.

So was news about the Iran drone attack, Valerie Jarrett's negotiations with Iran; and the Benghazi inquiry and reporting.
People kept waiting for the other shoe to drop with this administration until we realized it's a centipede.
This case held till after the election... probably 100,000 layoffs held till after the election... no serious inquiries into the Libya affair till after the election, if ever, which is doubtful with Boner in control...

What would impeachment give us? Reid would block any action in the senate.
Besides, Plugs Biden may be even worse than the Kenyan Usurper.
So... why wasn't Petraus' security clearance revoked immediately upon learning this information by the "Chumpmander In Chief?" Oh, I see, it wasn't revoked for political reasons. There is nothing that possibly could have been compromised for those few days.

Well, we’ll see about that as Obama’s rampant corruption is exposed more and more to the public and as he tries more and more to run roughshod over the congress and the constitution and as more and more of our citizens lose their jobs and fall into poverty. True Americans will not appreciate that and will not tolerate dictators.

I agree. It would be worse for the conservatives in the long run to do this. We lost Tuesday. We failed to attack where we should have and have a good solid conservative message and lost.
It looks like sour grapes. Just deal with four years; let the bad news and bad economy pile up and then clean house big time in 2014 and 2016.
Think of the opportunity in this country right now to hire "real journalists" and create a news organization that is actually "conservative" and reports "news." Fox News is left of center and that organization is loathed by libs! Imagine if there were a real news organization that actually reported the news with ethical journalists instead of journoactivists!
So the DO”J” protects al Qaeda, terrorists,
incoming narcomurderers, Mohammed, Korans, and Obama.
The US Constitution? Not on your life, cracker.
We must retake control of the Senate in 2014 and kick Harry Reid to the curb. It’ll take some time anyway for this all to play out. Build on our majority in the House in 2014, retake the Senate, continue building conservative majorities in the state and local governments. Enforce the tenth amendment!
