Dear dingbat
The article was talking about the people of Long Island. I was only asking for a little pity for them.
The people on Long Beach were hit HARD.
I wrote one sentence. I said nothing disparaging or made a comparison about the Rockaways. But for some reason you picked a fight out of the thin air to change the subject.
Queens voted OVERWHELMING for Obama , so following your tortured pretzel logic YOU have no pity for them.
Earlier in this thread you claimed that the Towns of Hempstead suffered the WORSE damage of all.
You have to tell '60 Minutes' right away ...
They had the gall, the audacity ... to think Rockaway was the hardest hit and filmed a segment about the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy there ... and it will be aired tonight!!!! You must stop them!!!!! You must correct them!!! They should have filmed in Long Beach!!!!
And, since you know it all, maybe you should throw them a civics lesson while you're at it ...
BTW, although the Rockaways are within New York City limits, thus have much lower property taxes, geographically it is part of Long Island ... which voted OVERWHELMING for Obama.
Unfortunately, most in the Republician enclave of Rockaway were unable to vote due to the aftermath from the storm. Both Mike Long, the Chairman of the Conservative Party of New York State and Bob Turner, the Republican who replaced Anthony Weiner, lost their homes in the fires.
