The Town of Hempstead contains 22 villages and 37 hamlets. Oceanside is protected by the barrier beaches: Lido Beach, Long Beach and Atlantic Beach which directly face the ocean ... like all of Rockaway ... which received the brunt of the storm.
In you post # 9 you stated, "We are one of the last bastions of Republicans on Long Island". Are you implying that the residents of Roosevelt, Uniondale, East Garden City, Freeport, Baldwin, Hempstead Village, etc voted Republician . . . or just the white enclaves?
You also stated, "Have some pity for the people in the Town of Hempstead, who are the hardest hit." I assume you still have a home ... ??? I have family in Rockaway who don't have homes anymore. I also have family in the 'Town of Hempstead' who have no power but still have houses.
BTW, Nassau County voted overwhelmingly for Obama.
So take your civics lesson and shove it where the sun don't shine.
But I guess you just had to get a nasty snide comment in because you are a nasty, snide person.
I didn't say I lived in Oceanside. Reading comprehension problems? Perhaps you can get one of you relative to explain the governmental differences between the Town of Hempstead, the Town of North Hempstead and the Town of Oysterbay. Nassau County is divided into 3 TOWNS

Florida went for Obama. So according to your pretzel when the next disaster hits Florida I should wish ill on all.
You are one of the nastiest Freepers I've ever had the misfortune to come across in all my years here. There's always one rotten apple that has to spoil it for the rest.
