But the obama administration and panetta didn’t want to hear it. From what I was told, he tried to convince the administration that there should be more of a foot print in USAREUR and that removing those two brigades would have a adverse effect on our relations in Europe with NATO and also national security implications.
So he was told it was time to retire. Which is consistant with the current administrations theme regarding general officers who don’t share their strategic views. Remember General’s McKernian, who was also a USAREUR Commander, McCrystal, and it appears of late, General Ham. Were all relieved and sent packing by the obama administration. Appears president obama and his advisors know more about warefighting and maintaining allied relations in Europe than all those generals do.”
Any problems the Europeans have can be fixed with a speech by the One.
I finally realized that a FaceBook friend from HS in the 70s is no smarter than she was back then when she proclaimed her support of The One just before the election. She did this in the face of having a daughter, son-in-law, and son on active duty in the Army and living in Eastern KY Coal Country. I have shown much restraint in not making FB posts of every coal company layoff for her attention.
