(Reuters) - Pentagon leaders knew of the September 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi an hour after it began, but were unable to mobilize reinforcements based in Europe in time to prevent the death of the U.S. ambassador, according to a timeline released on Friday.
Senior defense officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, rejected criticism accusing the Pentagon of failing to move quickly to send reinforcements to relieve the consulate or using armed aerial drones to fire on the attackers.
"The Department of Defense acted quickly after learning of the incidents unfolding in Benghazi," said one official, adding that Marines, special forces and other military assets had either been employed or put in motion during the attack.
"Unfortunately, no alternative or additional aircraft options were available within a timeline to be effective," the official added.

State Dept. Rules of Engagement Kept Marines out of Tripoli, Benghazi in LibyaCaptain Kendra Motz, Marine Corps spokesman, told Breitbart News on Friday that she wasn't aware that the Marine Corps had issued a formal statement, but that the information included in the Powerline report was correct.

Translation: Sean smith told his fellow gamers that an attack was coming 45 minutes before it started, but the official line is that it took them an hour after the shooting started to learn about it.
And maybe they couldn't have gotten there fast enough to keep the embassy from being overrun, but why didn't they send help during the seven hour firefight at the safe house.
0bama knew the REASON why the Embassy was attacked, probably as soon as he learned of it. Why exactly, we're not sure but 0bama's knowing the attack was a 'one off' is significant because of his persistent false narrative that it was some sort of random attack because of a video on YouTube. He knew damn well that a local terror group connected with Turkey was outraged about a Stevens' weapons deal rip-off. Who is 0bama's BEST foreign leader friend? THE PRESIDENT OF TURKEY, ERDOGAN! Saving the Americans in distress in Benghazi would've meant sending in troops and attacking his best friend's army. He chose not to outrage his best friend.

You are correct. I knew I had the timeline off a little. But then again, 1 hour after the fight would have been too late. And I also call BS on not having anything available sooner. But oBamboozled we will be. And we all know he’ll never take the fall for his imcompetence.

Absolutely. That claim is just a bizarre absurdity. If the Russians started rolling tanks across Poland would it take 21 hours to get the first 100 Marines on the ground? What happened to all those fighter jets NATO used to turn Libya into rubble? They were all scrapped in the last 10 months?
The team was on paper(okay i’m not specific) but really wasn’t in place(so I hear)because this administration had better things to with their time. So this has been floated and our Hero who lasered the mortar which killed him, was left to expect it would be taken out. He wasn’t told what the adminstration says now( a few days ago) or he wouldn’t have done that.

After all this time, I would have thought someone would have a Benghazi ping list, but nope. We just randomly ping who we THINK might be interested.
