But, how do we get that tower of jello Boehner to stand tall and refuse to increase the debt ceiling and refuse some deal with Obama on the Fiscal Cliff. I agree. Let it crash. It's early, in four years, the electorate will have forgotten the who, what, when, etc. Believe me, they will! Clintoon raised taxes, retroactively, at the beginning of his first term (so that I, for the only time in my life, actually owed still more when I filed) and by '96, the people had forgot all about it (and re-elected him).

We may need to go over the Cliff. If I thought substantial automatic cuts in spending were in fact to happen I would be happy to pay the additional 18K it will cost me in taxes. Of course the following year I would expect to pay much less as I will clearly take an income hit. About the one year anniversary of tumbling over and assuming the correct cuts are made I expect the takers will realize the problems they created and will educate themselves.
