Karl Rove claims President Obama won reelection by 'suppressing the vote'

The Republican super-strategist was feeling the heat after his shadowy political committees burned through $100 million on anti-Obama attack ads — to little effect.

Republican super-strategist Karl Rove tried to shift blame Thursday for his failed spending spree to defeat President Obama, claiming Obama won reelection by “suppressing the vote.”

Rove was feeling the heat after his shadowy political committees burned through $100 million on anti-Obama attack ads — to little effect.

Obama’s top strategist, David Axelrod, joined the piling on Thursday, chortling that if he were one of the Republican benefactors who bankrolled Rove, he’d be “asking where my refund is.”

[snip]

Rove was the brains behind several Super PACs — private groups that can spend unlimited money on political ads — that spent heavily to defeat Democrats, including more than $100 million on ads bashing Obama.

Appearing Thursday on Fox News, Rove insisted that Obama won because he “succeeded in suppressing the vote” with negative ads “that turned off” voters, keeping them from the polls.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly didn’t buy it, interrupting Rove by saying, “But he won, Karl, he won!”

Well another person PROUD to be stupider than Obama’s voters, how does it feel to be so stupid, while you mockl people that put ads against Obama all over.

It feels good, real good. I'm enjoying the howls of pain I'm hearing from faux conservatives.

And how are you? How does it feel to have been sodomized once again by Karl Rove?

I hope he was gentler with you this time than he was in 2008. I remember well the hopeless tears of four years ago. It was truly heart-rending.

Did he at least leave you fifty bucks on the dresser before he snuck out of your room early last Wednesday morning?

Just as with The Federalist Papers, we have argued our points, plead our cases and now must come together in one accord (not one made in OH ;-) and stand and fight, shoulder to shoulder.

Thanks to your kind of thinking, the rest of us are screwed for the next four years.

You got duped by the Country Club Set once again and I'm the cause of America's woes?

You're deluded, friend.

Wake up. We need to destroy the GOP. The GOP is a far more dangerous enemy to those of us who value liberty than the Democrats.

Why is this so hard for conservatives to get? Karl Rove isn't your friend, okay?

What will it take to convince you?

Romney and company lost because they fail to see (or agree with) what is going on. The fundamental problem is this. When Republicans allow the government to grow they shrink their electorate. The left will go with the authentic big government candidate every time. No matter how far left they go they will never be the choice of the left. They will only alienate their base.

Believe me I already know folks such as yourself have no shame. Or brains. You’re as happy as an Obama voter God bless you.

But don’t ever think that responsible people will take your crap without calling you out. Have a nice day.

Rove isn’t talking about voting fraud. From the linked article: “Appearing Thursday on Fox News, Rove insisted that Obama won because he ‘succeeded in suppressing the vote’ with negative ads ‘that turned off’ voters, keeping them from the polls.”

If negative advertising about the opposition constitutes suppressing the vote, then Romney spent scores of millions of dollars suppressing the Gingrich and Santorum vote. Wake me up when Karl Rove criticizes that.

Suppressing the vote was the tactic used in 2006. Call out a Culture of Corruption in the GOP and then exhibit it with the outing of two homosexual Republicans.

But don’t ever think that responsible people will take your crap without calling you out.

You're calling voting for Romney a "responsible" choice for conservatives?

How ridiculous.

You're completely deluded.

When you have the strength of your convictions, like Reagan did, you don’t make those kinds of mistakes.

Exactly. Reagan even won the respect of those who disagreed with him politically because of his sincerity.

The strength of convictions is the reason I've been a Sarah Palin fan from the first time I heard her speak. IMO, she has Reagan-like sincerity.

HERE WE GO.... let's eat our own. Just a few years ago, everyone here was singing Rove's high praises for delivering the Bush Victory's, etc. ROVE IS RIGHT - the VOTE WAS SUPPRESSED, to the tune of 12 million votes less than the previous election. I know personally know many that didn't vote because they were sick of the attack ads. Here's just one Facebook post from a friend - Yes. I exercised my right to NOT vote today! I refuse to vote for someone I don't trust. I'm not going to jump on a wagon like some people and say this guys an idiot. These guys clearly aren't idiots or else they wouldn't have gotten where there are if they were. Fact is I just don't trust either of them to follow through with what they say. So with that said I decided to NOT VOTE! Plus with how quick both of them are to throw the other under the bus And say how wrong the other is in their beliefs makes me wonder if we really know what the right way actually is. If that makes any sense to anyone. Lets stop eating our own... sometimes mistakes are made, sometimes our team doesn't work as hard, or as smart and there is a huge factor to consider... we have gone from the "Greatest Generation" to the "Ungrateful Generation".....yes, the TAKER crowd. In addition, I think Romney's religion played a factor...perhaps not for a lot, but enough to make a difference. As for the voter turnout... I know many that didn't vote and don't vote because they feel its much easier to say that they don't vote, then to have to get into heated battles...but for what its worth, its mostly people that consider to conservative in nature. Let's stop hating and start working on 2016.

Whatever you think of Rove (and I turned on him when he dumped on Sarah Palin), he did a great job with
- GOTV in 2004 (Bush v Kerry), and
- GOTV in 2008 - even though McCain lost, he got more votes than Romney in 2012.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

For what it’s worth, Breitbart is saying Romney suppressed his own vote:

Romney did NOT run a conservative campaign.
He had a conservative hour in the 1st debate.
Period.

He attacked Gov. Palin more than Obama,
in the typical Romney way.

And NOTE: Romney is a loser as was PREDICTED.
Romney LOST each of his 4 states, and was
TRASHED in his home town of Belmont Mass.

Traitor Obama 9,108
Loser Romney 4,728

It’s like we had the finest cavalry officers, the finest horses, the sharpest and strongest swords and straightest rifles, the best trained troops and riders, but somehow we lost to the heavy armor division with close air support.

Try to find some actual proof. Nothing matters without it. I will say this though, my mind is switched on having a paper receipt for electronic voting. After each election, do a sanity check on the matchup between receipts and votes totals for precincts chosen at random.

Lets stop eating our own

You don't know how tired I am of hearing this. Guess what? The RINOs have no problem with trying to destroy us. They did it to Palin. They have treated the Tea Party, the one entity that gave them the House back, as poor relations. They destroyed every opponent against Romney, even as he struggled to top 30 percent primary after primary, and then ran a stinker of a campaign against a weak incumbent who came in 8 million votes lower than 2008. It is very clear to me that they would rather fight conservatives than Democrats. They apparently don't care if it costs them elections, because IMO they are philosophically closer to Dems than the Tea Party.

You want peace in the GOP? Tell the stinkin' GOP-e to not fight conservatives having a place at the table, let alone giving them a blueprint for victory.

All these stories about ‘massive turnout’ on Tuesday doesn’t seem to line up with these lame vote totals...Zero down 8 million; Romney’s total lower than McCain’s. Were early voting numbers up, or down? If up; then NONE of this makes any sense.
