Mr. Orlet and I must live in the same neighborhood.
Interesting ideas.....
Re Sams Club et.al.K close relative works there. Here in the N.O. Area this is what happens 24-7. EBT card users drive up in big SUV.S. One is a member, they bring in non-members to shop. All with EBT. ANY food purchases can be returned for cash refund. Food is the trashed even if unopened. But get this...cakes,cooked food bought there cooked or cooked at home,is brought back half-eaten and full refunds are given. Roast “too dry”? Cake “tasted funny”? When dinner is over bring remains back for full refund!!this is really big at holiday time when half-eaten turkeys, pies, etc come back after holiday. After Issac relative witnessed EBT user buying tons of steaks and lobsters(she even coomnted that she just loved lobster!) had $2000 REMAINING on her card and loaded it all into her Escalade.!! Slaves in Escalades!
Thanks for the ping!
That was exactly what I was trying to convey!! Scammers hit the “Double Jackpot” now that they have access to Sam’s Clubs.
It’s a literal Have Your Cake And Eat It, Too!!
sorry to hear that-I have an uncle-a Veteran- who we rescued from the streets where he was living due to his mental illness.Very difficult to deal with...
Suzy
Talking to friends in other states, this does not occur in their Sam’s Clubs. There is a FEAR factor here. No one wants to confront or argue with the thug types. The corporation figures its not worth it-they assume a certain percentage of theft and loss.
Imagine if we had the nerve to eat half a roast or turkey and cake then bring the remains back and demand a refund. We would be told no. Not enough of an intimidation factor. Giant TV’s come back after big games/events too. But the idea of eating your fill then returning the leftovers for full refund is a new low.
I’m still trying to figure out how a woman has $2000 remaining on an EBT card after Issac when everyone I know who lost all of their refrigerated food after 8 days of no power in 100 degree heat, got NOTHING in emergency funds. We work, so we didn’t qualify for emergency assistance.
