EXCELLENT idea. Years ago when FOX News came out, our cable didn’t carry it. After they lied to me for more than 2 years that “yes we’re getting it within 2 months” I finally CANCELLED them and went with some satelite dish cable. Then about 3 years AFTER that, our cable company finally GOT FOX NEWS! I took them back.
But when I first asked they said they didn’t have “room for FOX” and I told them to take CNN OFF my cable - they actually laughed at me. I was not amused. Dumped them.
Cable TV will probably go the way of buggy whips but not soon enough. Cell phone and online access is the way of the future, right?
Except for those of us who live in the sticks, where broadband isn't available.
That being said, I only keep DirecTV because I'm caring for and elderly parent, and we only get about 4 channels w.a roof-top antenna.
However, when they're gone, I'll be dumping DirecTV. I may add a KU-band FTA system to supplement the meager OTA, but that'll be it.
And since I get 99% of my news from FR, losing Fox News won't really bother me.
