CrippleCreek - I am heartened by Michigan as the concerned citizens have shown that once you hit bottom - voters will gladly take the pledge. I don’t believe that Republicans nationally need to morph into the “outreach party” at all. Rather, we need to hold our principles dear and stand our ground, so when the dark blue states (first) and then the nation hits the wall in an epic financial collapse - responsible Republicans will be there to clean up.

I have properties and business ties in California, but I hope to change my tax and voting home as soon as I hit the magic 188-day mark. California is about to hit bottom and the voters will beg for a Republican to save the state when all hope is extinguished.

Michigan and California are going to be an interesting experiment. We started in similar circumstances but are now heading in different directions. It should be very interesting to see how different they are in 10 years.
